Showkat Ali Chowdhary (born 5 March 1963) is a senior Indian Forest Service (IFS) officer posted as Conservator of Forest, Agrostology Circle & Additional charge as Conservator of Forest, Research circle in Jammu & KashmirHe has also served as regional director for the department of State Pollution Control Board Jammu. Besides he has served in various other Forest department & also served as DFO Forest J&K. Showkat has done his graduation from SKAUST in B.Sc Agriculture. He belongs to a well known political family from Jammu & Kashmir, Ali's Father Chowdhary Mohammd Hussain was minister in farooq Abdullah cabinet & was 5 time legislator from Darhal Vidhan Sabha, his younger brother Chowdhary Zulfkar Ali has also served as Minister in Mehbooba mufti cabinet & Mufti Mohammad Sayeed cabinet.
