"Show Me a God" is the second single by Midwest hip hop artist Tech N9ne off his 10th album K.O.D.. The song is done in the style of an angry prayer towards God, as the result of his mothers illness. Backgound Influence In an interview with Hip Hop DX, Tech said that the inspiration for the song was his mother's illness, she had just been diagnosed with Lupus and was placed in an insane asylum at the time. His 1 year old nephew dying in a car crash also had an influence. When asked whether or not he believed in god, Tech N9ne responded with "I really hope there is, man, because I pray to Him every - I pray to It, Her, or Him every night. Whatever It may be, I pray every night, I pray every day, before I go on stage. I have faith that there is something there greater than us. I have no proof. There’s signs like the sun, and the moon, and birth of a baby. There are signs there’s something greater, but there’s always room for doubt". According to Tech, his mom is a devout christian. |
