Shoe Store

Shoe Store is a 2008 Verbal Comedy written and directed by Michael Blevins starring Corey McIntire, Victor Quintero, Jeremy Allen, and Kensey J. Colaco.
Plot
Five just out of high school boys, Jeff (Jeremy Allen), Al (Victor Quintero), Tony (Robert Howe), Ted (Miles Schasteen), and Ben (Michael Blevins) wake up every morning to the same old routine: getting out of bed, putting on clothes, and opening 'Shoe Express', their shoe store located in the mall. They all hate their manager, Dave (Brian Babcock), who they do nothing but torment throughout the day. Dave introduces Jeff Dinsmore to the pack of boys, who are less than thrilled to meet him. Knowing that Dave will have trouble with the two Jeff's, he assigns them new name tags, Jeff Dinsmore gets a name tag that says Jeff D. and Jeff Fitzgerald gets a name tag that says Jeff F. Ben is then assigned to show Jeff D. around the store. Ben does that and gives Jeff D. tips to avoid work and more importantly avoid Dave. Jeff F. gripes about his new name enough to where the group of boys decide to rename Jeff D. "Douche" and initiate him into the group by knighting him with a reaching stick. They even go as far as to put a piece of paper with the word 'Douche' written on it in his name tag lanyard. Soon after his initiation Douche is told about the 'noon to five bitch' known as Wendy (Kensey J. Colaco). The six boys proceed to then break out into a musical dance number to the song Windy by The Association. Douche instantly falls in love with Wendy who treats everyone else poorly. He wants to fit in with the guys, but also wants to be with Wendy. After many trials and tribulations he is turned down by Wendy, and rejected by the guys for turning his back on them. It is then up to him to save the store from an angered customer attempting to rob it. He earns back the respect of the guys and gets the girl in the end.

Production
Production began in late 2007. Filming began in March of 2008. The set was built where Steve's Family Shoe Store once was in the mostly abandoned Metro North Mall, located in Kansas City, Missouri.
Writing
Written and directed by Michael Blevins, he wrote the first draft while working for Famous Footwear located in Liberty, MO. Ninety percent of the events that occurred in the film actually happened while Blevins was working at the shoe store. in Liberty.
