SHMILY: A Love Story

SHMILY: A Love Story is an independent film by Dramatic Productions, released on June 8, 2012. The film stars Malaysian actors Nik Amiin Imran, Wendy Wong, Jaymie Tan and Stephanie Yap.
Plot
17-year-old student Nik goes on his daily 6 pm run when he runs into a girl named Wendy. They instantly start up a friendship that quickly leads into a relationship. After a brief courtship, Wendy decides to break it off, leaving Nik heartbroken. It is later revealed that Wendy is really a contract assassin, hired to eliminate Nik after his father got into some "tricky business." However, when she calls her employer and informs her that she can no longer kill Nik, she is informed that the price is now on her head. After three years, Wendy realizes how much she misses her relationship with Nik and arranges to meet him in the park where they first met. He arrives and they embrace, seemingly striking up a relationship once more.

Production
Following the success of Dramatic Production's first play, The Necklace, director and screenwriter Peh Xin Ying wanted to make a story about "emotions and the human experience." The film was an online sensation, reaching over a thousand viewers within the first month of its online release. On July 12, 2012, Dramatic Productions announced that a new film, entitled The Bench is in the making due to the success of SHMILY, but it will not be a direct sequel.
The film was shot in scenic Margosa Park, located in Malaysia.
Critical Reception
The film has garnered generally positive reviews, with the audience praising the actors and the film's upbeat musical scores.
