Shipititez

Joseph Orin-Leigh Shippee (born October 6 1980) is an American musician, and backyard wrestler known by his stage name Shipititez,. He is a self taught producer and musician, specializing in experimental rock, metal, and hip hop music. He has been a bassist and vocalist with many different bands, including Weird naked indians, Yankem and the jobbers, and Admiral of the black, as well as being a producer for the Washington based rapper Just-IN?. Shipititez has also been credited as one of the first underground rappers to incorporate experimental music into a hip hop format.

Career
Shipititez began his musical career playing bass guitar for many San Francisco bay area Thrash metal bands including, Morpheus, Shoot the Cat, and Groundhog day.
He has recorded for Krooked Records in the US since 1999 and his debut album Zodiac 707 is licensed to Shewmac Records for sale in the UK.. Shipititez was formerly known as Shipititez tha Viruz but changed his pseudonym to Shipititez in 2004 for purposes of simplicity. In 2005 Shipititez released his second solo record Sonar which he recorded on a digital multi-track between 2004-2005, while on tour with Admiral of the Black. Shipititez currently resides in the state of California.

Biography

Shipititez was born in Vallejo, California in 1980. He attended Vintage High School in Napa, Ca and was a co-founding member of the experimental rock band Yankem and the jobbers as well as the underground bay area Horrorcore group Weird Naked Indians. Shipititez co founded Weird Naked Indians in 1997 with fellow Vallejo, California musician Josh Wooley, known in the Weird Naked Indians by his alias "Tha Letha Face Killa". In 1999 Shipititez and Josh Wooley went on to found the experimental group Yankem and the jobbers, with local musician, vocalist Issac Kain. He would go on to leave Yankem and the jobbers, after the substance abuse problems, and fake death of vocalist Issac Kain, forced the group to disband in 2000.

Shipititez was a founding member of the Backyard Wrestling Federation CWF Devastation (Founded in Vallejo in 1997) , where he wrestled under the persona of "The Master" Kevin Blake. He also served as one of the voices of the CWF, on the Devastation television as wrestling commentator Mark Berga.

In September of 2000, Shipititez joined the U.S Navy, where he served as a Sonar Technician aboard the submarine USS Alabama (SSBN-731). It was during his Navy years that he released his first solo record Zodiac 707, which was written and recorded while at sea aboard the submarine Alabama. Zodiac 707 was released in 2003, and has been called an underground classic, notable for its unique sound and lyrical content. During his time serving in the Navy, Shipititez also recorded a Horrorcore record, that he released under the name Mzak Kraze. Mzak Kraze was a concept based hip hop album, based on a cannibalistic crack head serial killer character of the same name. The Mzak Kraze album "From the Sewers to your living room..." was released in 2002 on Krooked records.

Shipititez moved to Fort Bragg, California in 2003, where he joined the Thrash Metal band Admiral of the black. AOTB disbanded in 2005 after splitting over personal differences. Shipititez released his second solo album Sonar in 2005 on Krooked records to much critical acclaim. Soon after the release of Sonar, Shipititez recorded an album with AOTB frontman Whiskey McManus, and a vocalist from Iowa named Goat Shipman; entitled Kingdom Whiskeydick. Kingdom Whiskeydick was a punk/metal crossover album, with all lyrical content dedicated to drinking alcohol and an alcoholics lifestyle. In November of 2007 Shipititez released a single for the track "It is what it is" from his upcoming third solo record due to be released in early 2008.

Style and culture
The Name Shipititez is officially pronounced (Shipa-Titus), but little is known about where the name originated from. Shipititez has many tattoo's, including the symbol for the U.S Navy submarine force across his upper back, and the word Vallejo across his stomach.

Originally releasing tracks under the name Shipititez tha Viruz, he eventually dropped Tha Viruz, in order to become know simply as Shipititez.

Shipititez is a former backyard wrestler, and has incorporates many references to professional wrestling in his lyrics and imagery. He appeared on the television show CWF Devastation from 1997-2000, as the popular character The Master Kevin Blake. While wrestling under "The Master" persona he held the CWF Championship for 6 months between April and September of 2000.
