Shinkilow

Shinkilow is a light art performance group based in Tokyo. It was founded by Kan Ijichi, a commercial lighting director, with his then lighting chief Shinichi Kanisawa, in co-operation with Kurosawa Film Studios. Shinkilow specializes in night-time illumination using mirror balls, mirrors, and commercial lighting lamps and color filters. The group also uses hand-made filters, light "instruments", and volunteer staff. Shinkilow provides the lighting at the "Field of Heaven" each year at the Fuji Rock Festival. Shinkilow performed in Graz, Austria in 2003 for the "European Capital of Culture". |
