Shiba Russell

Shiba Russell is a journalist. She most recently co-anchored the noon and 5:30pm newscasts on WNBC in New York City.
Early life and education
Russell was born in Boston and grew up in Ocean Township, New Jersey. Shiba discovered her love for news during her senior year of high school when she signed up for a TV production class. She graduated from Ocean Township High School. After high school, Shiba pursued a BA at the College of New Rochelle
In 2002, Shiba joined WTAE-TV in Pittsburgh where she was weekend evening anchor and general assignment reporter. She later joined WCVB-TV in Boston where she was weekend morning anchor and weekday reporter. Russell also served as the station's A+ reporter where she reported on high school seniors who overcame incredible odds.
In 2010, the Daily News reported that Russell was considering a position at WNBC, Shiba continues to deliver the Noon and 5:30pm newscasts. She left WNBC in 2016. In 2022, she joined Fox 29 as an evening news anchor.
Personal
Russell lives in NYC with her daughter.
