Shevington Sharks

Shevington Sharks are an amateur rugby league team in Wigan who participate in the North West Counties League. They are the third oldest club in Wigan, being established in 1979. They play their home games at St John Rigby College along with Orrell R.U.F.C.
In 2012, the club's under 11 team was described by the Brentwood Gazette as "a very stylish side" for their performance in the Scarborough Rugby League Festival.
Coaches at Shevington Sharks have included Ian Molyneux, who was heavily involved in the club but was killed by a sailor on the nuclear powered submarine HMS Astute, on which he was serving as a Lieutenant Commander.
Shevington Sharks players who have gone on to gain professional training scholarships have included Sam Wilde, who was signed up by Warrington Wolves' under-19 academy.
