Shelley Rosen is founder and CEO of Luxe Bloom LLC, (a wholesale florist company) and Airlift Ideas (a venture-backed Chicago based start-up). Education Rosen graduated from the University of Michigan with a Bachelor’s Degree. She has attended Executive Development courses at Harvard University on Leadership as well as Strategic Business Management Classes at the University of Chicago. Current executive role In 2013 she launched Luxe Bloom - a wholesale florist company - in the basement of her home.Luxe Bloom is America's first national florist company that sells rose arrangements to a prestigious clientele on a subscription basis.Using a preservation method of oil, water and sugar, Luxe Bloom preserves Ecuadorian roses for at least 60 days with no watering or refrigeration required. Employment history Rosen worked at the McDonald’s Corporation for over 8 years between 1997 and 2005 as the Senior Director of Strategy. There, she led the firm’s strategic efforts in the business development, global brand strategy and issues management sectors. She guided the corporation’s first ever global innovation which resulted in its launch of: REDBOX, DVD vending rental, and McDonald's Balanced Lifestyles. This platform brought $500m+ in new business revenue with its wellness menu items, nutritional labeling and global advisory council of leading scientists on obesity. From 1993 to 1998 she was a Vice President Account Executive at Leo Burnett USA, a global advertising agency where one of her clients was McDonald’s USA. For six years starting in 1988, Rosen was Vice President for New Business Development at Wunderman Cato Johnson and at Young & Rubicam. Board memberships Rosen is the Chair of the Economics Club of the Chicago Nominating Committee. Before that she held the role of Columbia College’s Trustee for a decade, during which time she helped guide the college’s creative leaders for the future.
