Shannon F. Reeves

Shannon F. Reeves is the Managing Partner of Reeves Strategies, LLC, a government affairs, corporate relations, and political consulting firm. Reeves grew up in the Bay View/ District of San Francisco, CA and graduated from Castlemont High School in Oakland. He currently serves on the Louisiana Republican State Central Committee.
As the former Director of State and Local Development for the Republican National Committee (RNC), Reeves served as the Party’s liaison between state, county, and local Republican organizations on candidate support, professional development, and strategic positioning of the Party’s efforts in local communities. To date, he remains one of the Party’s leading experts on African-American voting trends, demographic changes, and community constituencies.
Prior to the RNC, he served as the elected secretary of the California Republican Party, making him the highest-ranking African-American party official in the state. His state party experience and grassroots beginnings explain his passion for state and local politics. He is a conservative with a message of personal responsibility, government accountability, and efficient non-profit organizational management that has been delivered around the country. This has led to his reputation for being known by friends as “Mr. No More Excuses!”
Along with his passion for politics, he is deeply rooted in his spiritual convictions. Reeves is a born again Pentecostal and a lifelong member of the Church of God in Christ (COGIC). As a civic leader, he holds the title as being the only person to serve four consecutive terms as President of the Oakland, CA branch of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP). In addition, he is the only person ever to serve simultaneously as an elected NAACP President and an elected officer of the California Republican Party.
While serving the NAACP, his leadership increased the membership of the Oakland branch from 900 to over 4,000 and raised over $1 million dollars for the branch during his tenure. He has served the NAACP in eleven (11) different senior level capacities, serving fourteen (14) states during his twenty-three (23) years of activism with the organization. .
Passionate concerning economic development, he founded Freedom Fund, Inc., a nonprofit organization structured to manage and operate Chevron gas and convenience stores in Oakland, CA. This inner city business enterprise maintained a staff of approximately 37 employees and generated annual sales of approximately $13 million.
Reeves believes that private sector business growth, coupled with community based partnerships, is key to long term economic prosperity. He further believes that the most efficient government is that which is closest to the end user, resting primarily with municipal, county, and state governments.
In 1991, he received a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Grambling State University of Louisiana where he is currently pursuing a Masters in Public Administration (MPA). He is married and resides in Lincoln Parish, LA.
