Introduction: ShadowTrack is a low-cost voice biometrics tracking, authentication and monitoring solution for both adult and juvenile corrections facilities. Overview: In 1999, ShadowTrack was created by Robert L. Magaletta, for corrections facilities as a low-cost alternative to Electronic Home Monitoring methods for use on low-risk convicts and similar targeted audiences. This is achieved both by using an cloud based system, and by requiring no equipment other than a telephone. ShadowTrack has since been improved upon, thanks to developments in IVR and voice-biometric technology. It has been engineered as an interactive voice response system coupled with voice-biometric authentication technology. The system itself is programmed to automatically keep track of offenders with random, scheduled inbound or outbound calls from an authorized location (EG: work, school, rehab etc). ShadowTrack was first deployed in 2001, when it logged its first offender.
