Seth Kehr is a soccer referee in the youth professional league in the USA (Development Academy). Born December 28, 2002, he is currently one of the youngest referees in the country taking part in the youth professional league. Living in upstate New York, Seth has travelled to many countries to referee elite youth tournaments in 2016, such as the Ibercup in Spain and Portugal, the Paris World Cup in France, along with some tournaments in Northern Europe. He will be returning to referee in Europe in 2017). After starting to referee in 2012, he became well known very quickly around NY state and the country for being very passionate about refereeing and getting to the highest level of refereeing he can. In 2015, Seth was honored by the Eastern NY State Referee Association by receiving the "Young Referee of the Year" award, an award given yearly to the referee in each of the 55 state soccer associations in the USA who has shown the most interest and potential. His first youth professional game featured NYCFC vs New England Revolution on March 25, 2017. Since then he has passed most of his assessments as a referee in this league, and finished his first season taking part in the league in late May (exact date is unknown) totaling 13 games. According to the United States Soccer Referee Federation's most recent registration session (January 18, 2017), they're 143,882 referees in the country, and out of those, 6,142 referees take part in the professional leagues, ranging from Development academy (5 division) to MLS (1 division). Seth is also the ambassador in the United States for Tournaments Abroad, the referee company that has invited him to referee in Europe. In this role he is responsible for recruiting other referees in the USA to take part in tournaments in Europe, along with organizing with existing elite tournaments in the USA that are interested in having international referees attend.
