Kevin Mesa (born September 26, 1987) is an American/Colombian soccer player who currently plays for Red Bull New York of Major League Soccer.
Club career
Mesa began his career with the Sparta Prague Under-17 side in 2005. After impressing German scouts Mesa trained with German third division side F.C. Villingen. Unable to secure a contract with the German club, Mesa went to Switzerland to train with Swiss first division side F.C. Schaffhausen. Mesa impressed the club coaches and on September 28, 2006 signed a one year contract with the Swiss club. However, Mesa was unable to secure a work permit and had to leave the club. In 2007 Mesa trained with several clubs in Colombia including Deportivo Cali and Millonarios. Mesa than returned to the United States to play with the Red Bulls Under-20 squad. Mesa joined the Red Bulls senior squad on trial in late January 2008. After impressing during the pre-season Mesa inked a contract with the Red Bulls in March, 2008
