Serpentera

Serpentera is a giant robot from the Power Rangers television series. It is the personal Zord of Lord Zedd, and is co-piloted by Goldar, but is far larger then any other Zord (the Power Rangers' Zords being smaller then its feet). Serpentera is draconic in form, and has enough power to annihilate a planet. However, it is so massive that it requires tremendous fuel, and is inactive much of the time.

Once Serpentera had finally been created, Zedd and Goldar used it to launch an attack on the Deserted Planet, in order to prevent the Rangers from acquiring the Sword of Light. They would fail in stopping the Rangers, but succeeded in destroying the planet. Afterwards, Serpentera would land on Earth, but immediately ran out of power before it was able to attack. After this point, Serpentera would be used a couple more times by Zedd, but not always for destructive purposes (one of them being as the vehicle he and Rita flew off in trailing a fiery sign that read 'Just Married' after the two tied the knot).

Sepentera was used by Zedd and Rita to escape the moon when the Machine Empire attacked. When they finally did return to the moon, the Zord would apparently be buried in the Sea of Tranquility on the moon.

In the 10th anniversary special "Forever Red", Serpentera was dug up on the moon by General Venjix and his Machine Empire generals. Given a neo-plutonium reactor, Serpentera is piloted by Venjix towards Earth to destroy it. However, it is finally destroyed by the Red Wild Force Ranger using the Wild Force Rider, taking Venjix with it. For unexplained reasons, Serpentera is considerably smaller during the this episode, the Wild Force Rider being the size of its head.

Trivia
Serpentera played a role in the Scorpion Rain hoax, with Tommy Oliver famously describing it as "one ugly Zord". While Scorpion Rain turned out to be fake, Amit Bhaumik, who was one of the hoax's co-creators, wrote the "one ugly Zord" line into Forever Red.

In Gosei Sentai Dairanger, Serpentera does not exist as a Zord but rather as a god that keeps peace in the cosmos. It was named Daijinryuu (Great God Dragon).
