Sergey Kalchugin (b. ) is a Russian amateur boxer best known to win the European Junior Championships 2005 and the World Junior Championships 2006 at heavyweight with limit 201 lbs/91 kg. Career At the European title win in Tallinn 2005 he defeated Elchin Alizade who went on to win a silver medal at the seniors world championships later that year in the semifinal. In the World Junior Championships 2006 semifinal he defeated Dorsett Barnwell by RSCO, in the final at Agadir he stopped Remzi Ozbek. At the seniors he has the problem of tremendous domestic opposition in southpaws Roman Romanchuk and Rakhim Chakhkeiv. At his first national championships 2007 he lost to Evgenyi Romanov. Nevertheless he was sent to the renowned Strandya Cup in Bulgaria in 2008 which he won against Elias Pavlidis 23:8. In 2009 he lost at the nationals again to Romanov.
