Sergei Kazantcev is a Kyrgyzstan semi-professional basketball player who currently plays for Kaspiy Aktau. His best position is Center and he is the best rebounder in western Asia. Early Career and Life Sergei Kazantcev moved from Kazakhstan when he was 12 years old and travelled around a few countries. First he settled in Uzbekistan but only lasted a year there. In the end Sergei and his family moved to Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan, where his Uncle signed him up to a local basketball team because of his height. Sergei attended and soon was scouted by 4 scouts from Kazakhstan's lower division. He went to College in Kazakhstan and joined local team BK Tobol Kostanay where he got the most rebounds ever for his team in his opening 20 matches. After better teams signed him as a semi-pro player, 7 teams were after the prospect (BK Tobol Kostanay, MHSK Tashkent, Dornon Tanan Garid, Shutis Khartsega Hawks, Tulpar Shafkis, Hornsby Spiders and Mobile Seti) but eventually MHSK Tashkent gave him the best wage for a year contract with an option to stay for 3 years after the first year.
