Senior Member, Board of Revenue, Sindh

The Senior Member, Board of Revenue (BoR), is the Secretary of the Board of Revenue and is in-charge of state land, collection of land revenue, and revenue record. The position holder is usually a BPS-21/BPS-20 Officer, belonging to the esteemed Pakistan Administrative Service. The position is regarding as the senior most position in the province. The Senior Member BoR is also the Chief Land Commissioner and the Relief Commissioner reporting directly to the Chief Secretary of Sindh and to the Chief Minister.
The Office of the SMBR is not located in the Sindh Secretariat, and is instead located in the Revenue House, Karachi
The SMBR's and their Ministry also has a main role in providing relief to the citizens of Sindh after any calamity Thus the Board of Revenue closely works with the Provincial Disaster Management Authority. Thus, the Senior Member Board of Revenue is also the Relief Commissioner of Sindh. The power of disbursing compensation funds to affecters is also the SMBR/Relief Commissioner's prerogative.
The SMBR is also responsible for investigating issuance of domicile's. In 2020, their was massive uproar over issuance of fake domiciles. Therefore, the SMBR was made the Chairman of a committee responsible for investigating the matter.
