Self Propelled Mine Burier

Self Propelled Mine Burier (SPMB) is an automated mine laying system developed on a high cross-country mobility vehicle. It has been developed in India by Research and Development Establishment, Pune of DRDO.
*Description
The mines are stored in palletized containers housed inside the vehicle. A burying mechanism is mounted at the rear end of the vehicle. The system can lay four types of indigenous influence anti-tank mines, such as Adrushy Mk-I, Adrushy Mk-II, NDMK-I & HPD F2. The driver or commander can select the type of mine from a panel and it moves on a conveyor belt. An arming device arms the mines before it is buried in the ground. The system can stove around 480 mines and bury 240 mines in one hour. Engineered prototype of the system has been realized and as of 2009 it is currently in trials.
