SeeBeyond Technology Corporation

SeeBeyond Technology Corporation (NASDAQ: SBYN) was a computer software company that specialized in business and system integration. It was founded in 1989 as Software Technologies Corporation by Jim Demetriades as an enterprise application integration vendor. The name was changed to SeeBeyond in October 2000.
On 28 June 2005 the sale of the company for $387m to Sun Microsystems was announced; the deal was completed by August. After the acquisition, SeeBeyond's flagship product named Integrated Composite Application Network Suite (ICAN) was renamed to the Sun Java Composite Application Platform Suite (Java Caps).
SeeBeyond specialized in integrating systems for Global 2000 organizations and providing business integration software that enables the real-time flow of information in the enterprise and among the customers, suppliers and partners. The SeeBeyond Integrated Composite Application Network Suite was a Java EE compliant platform and provides application-to-application integration, business-to-business integration, business process management along with integrated human workflow, portal, extract transfer and load, business activity monitoring and composite application development capabilities.
The SeeBeyond family of integration adapters (e*Ways) provided a range of connectivity to various proprietary applications and platforms.
The SeeBeyond ICAN suite is widely used in the healthcare industry because of its compliance with the HL7 and HIPAA standards.
