Security and surveillance

Security and Surveillance in technology is created to monitor the contents of the usage of the technology tools from being misused.

Security means somebody or system that provides safety using possible methods in solving certain matters. In the usage of new media technology especially Internet has increased the security created by manufacturer in order to keep their customers safe by providing anti spam method. In general sense of the definition, it is used to protect someone from getting into a danger. For example, in big building, Bank for instance, security guards are hired to take care of the building from robbers.

Surveillance means monitoring in close watch in certain places or watching a person who are suspected of doing illegal behavior. Surveillance in a context on technology is giving close watch with or without knowing it. In everyday lives, surveillance cameras are used to monitor customer's behavior and action in order to keep them safe and secured.

Technology nowadays have given surveillance system more advance methods to increase the conditions of the arrival of the new media, the Internet. For example, magazine covers stories about certain celebrity from head to toe as they are surveilling the personalities without them knowing it. It can also be called the intrusion of their private lives.

Computer users are now becoming more aware of the ideal security they should used in order to protect them from being a victim of fraud activities. Computer manufacturers provides lists of security ad surveillance software to downloaded into user's computers by purchasing them legally or through legal procedures even though it is sometimes free.
