Duke University, created in 1924, has had a long standing of social influence from a prominent Greek system. However, few students are aware of the extensive presence of active secret societies that pervade the campus. The current elite societies are: Old Trinity Club, T.S., and C.I., and little is known about each. They operate under varying levels of secrecy with the most outwardly ceremonious being “Old Trinity Club”. Old Trinity Club accepts senior students from fraternities and sports teams, and is best known for hosting a procession on the main quad on the first and last days of classes. Others include C.I., which tends to attract business oriented-students and includes students of all ages. Lastly, “T.S.” is rumored to be a relatively newer society. Unlike the Greek system, the secret societies at Duke never collaborate and are completely separate bodies.
