Chrome Editor

Chrome Editor is a Web App and Extension from the Google Chrome Web Store which works only with Google Chrome a browser by Google.
Created in early 2010 it helps users build websites easier.
This software was created to simplify the creation of a website. It uses a lot of the functionality built into the Google Chrome browser such as localstorage, SQL Light databases, canvas html rendering, and locales support for foreign languages.
Chrome Editor started as an open source free project, but as it's usefulness grew more time was invested to meet the users demands. The software is now on version 3.0.2 and will continue to support web standards as they change. There are a lot of online content management tools out there that lack some of the features in their online editor which cause a lot of head aches for editing in the browser. Chrome Editor is an attempt at using HTML5 and new modern web technologies to develop a better editor for creating web pages from within your browser eliminating the need to flip from editor and web browser.
Original creator Bryan Lynn plans to help web developers to simply create web pages in a few keystrokes.
The technology used to build Chrome Editor consists of HTML5, CSS, and JQuery.
Chrome Editor extension has over 11,500+ users in the Google Chrome Extension gallery.
Chrome Editor web app has now over 145 paid users.
The difference between the builds is that extensions is accessible from the upper right hand side of the browser and the web app is accessible from the new tab screen and appears inside a full browser window.
