Sean Ho

Sean Ho (born May 4, 1978) is an assistant professor of Computing Science at Trinity Western University.

Biography
Born in Seattle, Ho began his academic career earlier than most. He entered the University of Washington at the age of 13 under the Early Entrance Program. By the time he reached the age of 18 he had completed his Bachelor Degree of Science in Mathematics and Computer Science (University of Washington), after which he attained his Masters in Mathematics (University of Washington). He then switched focus and enrolled at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill for his PhD in Computer Science, which he obtained in 2004. After these achievements, he was sought out by the Department Head of Computing Science at Trinity Western University. He is currently employed by Trinity Western University as an assistant professor of Computing Science.

Academic work
While at the University of North Carolina, Ho became involved with the Medical Image Display Analysis Group (MIDAG), which deals with the development of computer software that analyzes brain MRIs.
Ho has also worked on ITK-SNAP; which is a software application used to segment structures in 3D medical images. It provides semi-automatic segmentation using active contour methods, as well as manual delineation and image navigation. In addition to these core functions, SNAP provides a number of supporting utilities.
