Seamus Burke is an Irish teacher, farmer and political candidate. He ran as a candidate in the 2019 Irish local elections. He is a member of the Aontu party. Early Life Childhood Seamus Burke grew up in County Galway. He grew up as a farmer. Teaching Career Eventually he moved to Mullingar where he become a secondary school teacher, teaching metalwork and technical graphics. As a teacher he served on the Teaching Union of Ireland national executive from 2014 to 2016. He retired from union work in 2016. This inspired him to become involved in political life. Work as an Entrepreneur Seamus Burke is a inventor of a sheep restrainer for use on farms. This allows efficient shearing of sheep. He won an award for his work on the sheep restrainer. In addition it led to his Youtube channel earning over 1000 subscribers and over 1.4 Million viewers. Political Career Seamus Burke ran for a seat in the 2019 local elections. He ran as a candidate for Westmeath county council.His platform was more focus on apprenticeships, better water quality in Lough Ennell and creating the political willpower to deal with plastic waste.
