Scott Volkers is a former Australian swimming coach. He was the coach of Samantha Riley, Susie O'Neill and Elli Overton, among others. From 1995 until 2012 he was the Head Swimming Coach of Queensland Academy of Sport (the Academy) including an appointment as Head Women's Coach in September 2002. Concerns relating to his suitability to work with children meant Volkers was unable to qualify for a blue card (a suitability notice for child-related employment). His employment with the Academy was terminated in 2010, he was transferred to an appointment as Swimming Head Coach Queensland. a controversial decision which led to Margaret Cunneen of the NSW Director of Public Prosecutions providing advice on the case against Volkers. In November 2004, one of the female swimmers who alleged Volkers had indecently touched her unsuccessfully sought leave under s 686 of the Queensland Criminal Code to present an indictment against Volkers in relation to some of the alleged offending against her.<ref name="auto" />
