Score Revolution is a music licensing company specializing in film scores. It was launched by film music industry veterans Ian Hierons, Seth Kaplan, and Christine Russell on January, 2013 in Hollywood, California. Score Revolution's online platform connects film music rights holders (composers, producers, production companies) with licensing customers worldwide (advertisers, brands, filmmakers, film trailer houses, music supervisors). The company provides film music rights holders with the opportunity to monetize their music assets while maintaining full ownership. Catalog Score Revolution had their full commercial launch in January 2013, which allowed all users to search their online catalog and stream music without log in credentials. Users must register for an account to enable downloading and licensing features. Score Revolution's licensable film music catalog contains over 10,000 tracks from hundreds of scores from 165 composers The acoustic matching technology of Upload and Explore was developed in partnership with the Danish technology firm Moodagent by Syntonetic, who Score Revolution announced as their technology partner in October 2012. Filter Tool The filter tools allow a user to hone in on their desired results by selecting musical attributes. A user can search by music genre, film genre, ensemble type (solo, orchestral), emotional vibe, instrument, and tempo. There is also an additional tool that can summon tracks that are optimal for trailers. These attributes can be selected in any order or combination. As the user adds more filter tools, the results become fewer and more focused. The filter tool and keyword search technology is powered by a metadata management system that allows each track to be manually categorized with musical attributes.
