Schaefer Ambulance Service provides ambulance transport and 9-1-1 response services providing basic life support and critical care for patients in Southern California. Schaefer also provided air ambulance service until 2011. It operates as Cole-Schaefer Ambulance in Pomona, San Gabriel Valley, San Bernardino County, and Riverside County and as Gold Cross Ambulance in Imperial County. Schaefer employees over four hundred certified emergency medical technicians (EMT), paramedics and nurses. History Schaefer Ambulance Service has operated for many years, providing basic life support; paramedic; critical care; neonatal; air transport; event standbys; and other specialized medical transports. They service hospitals, convalescents, physicians, insurance companies, fire departments and private/public events.
