City Of Beacon Fire Department

The Beacon Fire Department is the fire department that provides full-time fire BLS EMS services to the residents of the City of Beacon. Beacon has three fire stations located at numerous areas of the city. The fire district is staffed with 13 paid and 40 Volunteer members. along with . The fire district is only one of three in Dutchess County that have firefighters. Paid employees belong to the IAFF. Arlington & LaGrange has a similar setup, where departments like Fairview and Pleasant Valley have paid drivers/EMT's . Beacon's Dutchess County department ID number is "33". Firefighters are dispatched via radio paging thru the Dutchess County Department Of Emergency Response whom are based out of Poughkeepsie.

Emergency Medical Services
The Beacon Fire Department does not provide Emergency Medical services outside of BLS First Response services. 2 firefighters will respond with one engine and one ladder to all life-threatening medical calls to provide basic life support until an ambulance from Beacon Volunteer Ambulance (BVAC) arrives on scene. At this time BVAC operates with a BLS CON for Beacon; hence, Advanced Life Support services are contracted out to Alamo EMS, who keep a flycar in the city at all times.
