Scary Mommy is a blog best known for telling humorous and touching stories about the world of motherhood. The blog averages three quarters of a million pageviews a month. It has appeared at on Babble’s “Best Mom Blogger” list and has been honored with several blogging awards. The blog is run by Jill Smokler, an American blogger. She also writes a weekly column for CafeMom’s "The Stir." Jill’s take on parenting has appeared in various publications including, CNN, Redbook, The New York Times and MSNBC. She also speaks frequently at BlogHer and other parenting/blogging conferences.
In February of 2011, The Scary Mommy Confessional was born. The Confessional offers a private and totally anonymous forum where moms and dads can talk about their secrets, and in some cases, their fears. A mobile app, “Scary Mommy Confessions” launched on the iTunes store in May 2011. The Confessional led to the creation of the Scary Mommy Message Boards, where moms find comfort and camaraderie with other parents.
Confessions of A Scary Mommy, written by Jill and to be published by Simon and Schuster Gallery, will arrive in bookstores April, 2012.
