Scandia cup

Scandia Cup is a cup that is held each year in Trondheim[] in late June and the promoter is the football club Freidig[]. The cup was held for the first time in 1974. So this year (2009) it is the thirty fifth time the annual event. The Cup lasts a week, where the first weekend is for those who are 7 to 10 years old. The rest of the week is for those who are from 11 and older. There are almost 400 teams participating in the second-largest Norwegian cup. It is not only teams from Norway, but also from elsewhere in the world. Under the week the teams play over 1000 matches, which include all the matches all the way to the finals. The centre for all the matches under the cup is Lade-anlegget. You can find Lade-anlegget on Lade in Trondheim. It’s not only at Lade the matches are played, but also in nine other football fields around in Trondheim. If you're lucky to get to the final in the cup, you get to play on Lerkendal[]. Lerkendal is Rosenborg football clubs home field and Rosenborg is one of the teams who play in the Tippeligaen. For the visitors who arrive to the Cup, there are several options where they can live. The most common settlement is schools that are located near the paths. It is not just football you can spend your time on under the Scandia Cup. There is marked in Trondheim centre, cinemas and different baths. If you are more of the type that likes to dance, you can go to the disco that is for those who participate on the cup.
