Sardar Muhammad Yunus Khan

Sardar Muhammad Yunus Khan is a famous businessman and British Citizen was born on 1932 at Chamankot, Azad Kashmir. He started his basic education from Hill Srung a village near Chamankot and when he grew older he was shifted by his great uncle Sardar Muhammad Shaffi Khan to Bombay, India for higher education. He did his O-level from Bombay and migrated to Azad Kashmir. He joined AJK The Food Department as an Inspector and continued his job for couple of years and then migrated to Peshawar Warsak Dam where he works as a Administration Manager then he transferred to Mangla Dam on same post. During construction of Mangla Dam he migrated to UK and joined Balfour Beatty as a Shift Manager. He was there for more than six years and then planned to back home during late seventies. He again planned to work in Saudi Arabia and joined a British Construction company as an Office Secretary. He served there for two years. Feeling the need to be present at home for his children, he then returned to his hometown.
After returning back home he planned to start a business under the name Ghazi Ghee Mills at Mirpur with the help of his partner Haji Aziz.He successfully developed a ghee and cooking oil manufacturing industry but unfortunately while the infrastructure was being set up he suffered a heart attack and died in Rawalpindi on 17 May 1987. He left three sons and two daughters as successors. One of his younger sons, Mustafa, took charge of the mills and continued to work with his father's partner.
Since then the company has grown. It now has a remarkable share in the consumer market and their products have gained much popularity.The company provided more than 300 direct jobs to the locals and about 200 indirect jobs for the adjacent areas but unfortunately at the last few years they have piled up huge losses due to uncertainty of Foreign Currency as their raw material was import based and ultimately they have no chance left and beyond their financial control and finally they decided to close down their business.
