Santos Perez Jr. is an active member with the Boston Police Departments Operations Division in Massachusetts.

Overview

Perez is one of three siblings, born in Framingham, Ma.

Officer Perez worked as street cop for numerous years working as a drug investigator, anti-crime officer, bicycle patrol, traffic enforcement in the Mattapan/Dorchester sections of Boston, Evidence Management, Detail Assignement Unit and receiving numerous awards including the Departments Det. Thomas Gill Medal of Honor, The Sullivan Award Medal, Boston Bank Award, Deputy Superintendent William Celester Service Award, BPPA Service Awards, Numerous Commissioners Citations and Letters of Commendation, Unit Citations, African American Friendship Inc. Award for Community and volunteer services, and recognition from the New England Organized Crime Drug Enforcement Task Force which included FBI,DEA,ATF,US Marshalls,INS,US Customs and Local and State Police for participation in Operation "Pegasus"

Officer Perez is a Certified Police Officer in Massachusetts and has been certified/trained in numerous areas by the Drug Enforcement Administration, Boston Police Academy, Department of Homeland Security/FEMA in IS700 National Incident Management System and IS100 Intro to Incident Command System, also classified as a firearm and drug expert in Suffolk County District Courts and Superior Court, trained in Hand Writing Analysis, Search Warrant Preparation and Execution, Surveillance and Countersurveillance, Basic Drug Identification, Drug Interdiction, Hides, suspect interrogation, Boston Police Imaging System, Leaps, NCIC, Asset Forfiture, Department Motorcycle operation, Community Policing, Constitutional Law, State Law, Motor Vehicle Laws, Domestic Violence Laws.

Santos Perez is currently the Director of Chaplain Services for the Massachusetts Hispanic Law Enforcement Association Inc.

Chaplaincy

Officer Perez saw the importance of relationship between the public and the police and prayed for guidance in establishing a religious organization which would create a bridge between the Latin community and the government.
A Minister of the Gospel, Officer Perez became interested in Chaplaincy, and after a few years Officer Perez became President and Founder of the Latin American Chaplains in May 23, 2004, based out of Boston, Massachusetts.

Today the Latin American Chaplains Association Inc. is composed of 273 members expanding to numerous states, including Texas, Massachusetts, Florida, California, North Carolina, Rhode Island, Nebraska, Washington, Connecticut and Puerto Rico and growing very fast. The Latin American Chaplains Association is a 501c3, Non-Profit Organization.

Members of the Latin American Chaplains Association Inc. are volunteer chaplains who devote 2-4 hours of their time to the community, visiting hospitals, Jails, house of corrections, prisons, preaching on the streets, youth counselling, pastoral care, performing missionary work in and outside the United States.

Members of the Association travelled to Biloxi, Mississippi after the Hurricane Katrina disaster and delivered humanitarian aid, members also travelled on a mission to Tijuana, Mexico and prayed, and preached the powerful Gospel of Jesus Christ and delivered food products to "Albergue las Memorias", a home for patients who suffer from A.I.D.S.

The Latin American Chaplains Association currently counts with over 350 members, not including volunteers or Junior Chaplains in numerous states. (12/4/07)

Rev. Santos Perez is the founder and Chairman of the Latin American Missionary Chapel in Blackstone, Massachusetts and in January 2008, opening the second chapel in Sacramento, California.
