Santa Clara Review is a national literary magazine which publishes poetry, fiction, literary non-fiction, and visual art. It is one of few undergraduate-run magazine to publish professional literary work. The magazine is published biannually in February and May, drawing on submissions from Santa Clara University students, faculty, and staff, as well as professional writers from around the nation and globe. It was founded in 1869, making it the oldest literary magazine in the Western United States. Santa Clara Review promotes the literary and visual arts through the selection and publication of professional and student content; well-known contributors include Gerald Stern, Thomas Lux, Peter Jay Shippy, Carolyn Forche, Alexandra Teague, Martin Espada, among others.
