Sankt Hans Hill

Sankt Hans backar (), a former dump site, now is a popular artificial park on a hill located in the north of the Lund between Norra Nöbbelöv and Norra Fäladen. The top of the hill reaches above sea level, which makes it a popular vantage point; Malmö and Copenhagen can be seen when weather is good. Also, a sled track is present during winter.
The dump was opened in 1947 and remained in use until 1954. The recreational area was constructed in the 1970s, giving the area its current form. - and the municipality financed a new decontamination project, starting in 2013, to protect water bodies in the area.
All vegetation has been planted, but the park still remains one of the few locations in Lund with orientation in nature. It is located close to the neighbouring residential areas. Lundakarnevalen use the place to organize social events. There is an annual hill running competition, Sankt Hans Extreme, in the hills. An amphitheatre is planned to be constructed in the hills. The area is used by surrounding schools and preschools as an outdoor classroom.
