Samuel Mehr

Samuel Mehr is a freelance musician. He attended Lexington High School and is currently a senior at the Eastman School of Music. Mehr performs regularly with the Eastman Wind Ensemble, the Schola Cantorum of Christ Church Rochester, the Reagle Players of Waltham, MA and the Beantown Swing Orchestra. Additionally, he co-directs the Apeiron Vocal Ensemble, a Rochester-area professional choir. He has also performed with the Eastman New Jazz Ensemble.
Mehr is also an active member of the Boston restaurant community. In addition to jobs at Panera Bread and Peet's Coffee and Tea, he is the lead ice cream maker at Toscanini's in Cambridge, MA.
Fundraising
While a senior in high school, Mehr created the Lexington High School Music Endowment, to ensure funding for music activities at LHS in the future. Building on this experience, in January 2008, he organized the Save Toscanini's effort, creating a website that raised over $30,000 in donations to rescue Toscanini's from closure by the State of Massachusetts.
