Samepoint, LLC is a social media API aggregation and monitoring company headquartered in New York City. As of September 2015, its website described it as being "in a rethink mode". Samepoint provided data from thousands of social media websites via one API. These social media sources included, but were not limited to Facebook, Twitter, blogs and Internet forums. The API also included sentiment, analyzing whether a comment is positive or negative based on natural language processing. The company launched a free social media monitoring search engine in 2009. The Samepoint Search Engine is referenced in over 35 books. History Samepoint was founded by Darren Culbreath, Richard Krueger, and Kwasi Fraser and was initially self-funded. Samepoint was referenced in an article from the Social Media Examiner titled "How to Build a Free Social Media Monitoring Dashboard". Social media reports Samepoint used its social media software to develop and publish a variety of research reports for its clients and the general public. In 2010, Samepoint released a study that measured the social media influence of mayors around the country, and ranking the top 100 most social mayors. San Francisco's Mayor Gavin Newsom was named the "Most Social Mayor in America" according to the Samepoint study. Newark, New Jersey Cory Booker was the second most social mayor, according to the Samepoint study.
