During the Benson administration the church purchased the Eagle Gate apartments and made it so there would always be a room for the prophet to live in. This was necessary for reasons of security and privacy as many people would flock to his home in a residental area. Ezra Taft Benson, Howard W Hunter and Gordon B Hinckley all lived in those apartments. upon Monsons incumbency a place was offered for him but he has elected to live in his home in Holladay with some security attached to his home.
