Salem El-Margini

Salem El-Margini (; born 1957) is a Libyan sprinter. He competed in the and at the 1980 Summer Olympics. Career In 1977, El-Margini set his 800 metres personal best of 1:49.61 minutes. El-Margini was seeded in the 5th 800 metres heat at the 1980 Olympics. He ran 1:50.0 to finish 4th, one spot short of an automatic qualifying place to the semi-finals. In the 4 × 400 m relay, El-Margini ran 2nd leg for the Libyan team that placed 6th in their heat in 3:16.7 minutes. Personal life In December 2024, El-Margini won the election for a member seat of the Libyan Athletics Federation. |
