Saira Shah Halim is an Indian theater personality and a social activist based out of Kolkata, India. Saira is the daughter of Lt. Gen. Zameer Uddin Shah, former Deputy Chief of the Indian Army and currently the Vice Chancellor of the Aligarh Muslim University. She is also the niece of film actor Mr. Naseer Uddin Shah and the daughter in law of Mr Hashim Abdul Halim, former speaker of the West Bengal Legislative Assembly. Saira’s brother is Actor Major Mohommed Ali Shah . Early life Saira’s ancestors were the Nawabs Of Sardhana, a tehsil near Delhi. She has been invited as a speaker for Kolkata literary fest. Saira Shah Halim has participated in a Sampark Literary Evening. She has curated several cultural and literary programmes across kolkata and beyond. In 2016 she chaired two sessions at the prestigious tata steel Kolkata literary meet. Saira Shah Halim is a passionate social activist involved with pertinent causes like gender equality and safeguarding democracy and secularism. Her short film 'ek khaas aadmi' was screened on NDTV talkies. Family Life Saira Shah Halim is married to Dr Fuad Halim and has two daughters, Nura and Farishta Halim. Dr Fuad runs his NGO (Kolkata Swasthya Sankalp) Clinic which caters especially to the poor classes. Dr. Fuad Halim is the founding member of Kolkata Swasthya Sankalp along with Saira Shah Halim. She is the daughter in law of the former West Bengal Assembly Speaker Late Mr. Hashim Abdul Halim. Hobbies Saira Shah Halim is one of the founding members of the Poetry Paradigm Club, which is a non profit organisation along with Joie Base, Arthur Cardozo, Ashoke Vishwanathan. Saira Shah Halim is a motivational speaker, behavioural and motivational trainer and an participant in the theatre field.
