Dr. Saheed Aderinto, is currently an assistant Professor in the Department of History at Western Carolina University, Cullowhee, NC. Dr.Aderinto earned his B.A. from University of Ibadan, Nigeria in 2004. In 2010, Dr. Aderinto received his PhD in History from University of Texas at Austin. Dr. Aderinto is a senior Research Fellow of the French Institute for Research in Africa. In 2015, Dr. Aderinto published When Sex Threatened the State with the University of Illinois Press. Academic Interests Dr. Aderinto's interests rest in nationalism, historical method, gender and sexuality, children and youth, and popular and expansive culture. To this end Dr. Aderinto has published extensively in the area of gender and sexuality and children and you. In 2010, Dr. Aderinto co-authored, Nigeria, Nationalism, and Writing History. In 2015, Dr. Aderinto edited two monographs Children and Childhood in Colonial Nigerian Histories and African Kingdoms: An Encyclopedia of Empires and Civilizations.
