Sababa - Northern Souls is a Rom-Com set in Manchester about young Muslim Doctor Amir and Miriam a young Jewish girl. Originally staged in Chorlton for . Writer Nakib Narat wrote it in response to the events in Paris at the time, and it's based around the theme of cultural diversity and religious cohesion within Greater Manchester. It has been described as a 'Romeo and Juliet-style story with a Mancunian twist'. Principal Characters Miriam Khan - A young Jewish woman from Bowdon who dreams of becoming a Rabbi. Played by Sophie Coward. Amir Khan - A young Muslim doctor from Didsbury. Smart, witty, footloose, playing the field. |
