S.M.B.S.

The S.M.B.S. was a political organisation which existed in the Republic of Ireland between 2008 and 2013 predominately in the South West. Its name was derived from the first letters of its founders, who meet during the competition.
From the very beginning the SMBS were known for their far right socio-economic views and there longing for the introduction of their unique system of politics. The party itself came to the attention of O'Donnell and Sheedy as both a dig at the church and local branch of the socialist party. Starting with initial success, the departure of O'Donnell and Jacob from the competition, limited the ability of the group which led to its quick decline and eventual dissolution in 2013
Beliefs
One of the major points behind the S.M.B.S. was the seperation of the church and state in Ireland. Despite being all from Catholic backgrounds, all four members had strong views on the actions of the church in drafting Irish politics. None more than Sheedy who wanted the complete split of church and state.
Onto this, the 4 held strong resentment of the Fianna Fail goverment of the time and longed to remove them from power. The emergence of Fine Gael as the largest party in the state hence also weakened the SMBS's political stance.
