Ryan Rafferty (born 1983, Northern Ireland) is a Northern Irish DJ and record producer. Rafferty is considered one of Ireland's rising DJ talents since breaking out with the single "My Life" in 2006. Career Rafferty has been interested in music since he was young. He first took serious interest in the business around 2002 when he began working under Micky Modelle at Futureforce Studios. Rafferty came in to the media spotlight in 2006 and 2007 when he signed his first record "My Life" to Maelstrom under the name Nimrod, working alongside Modelle. "My "Life" was aired on BBC Radio 1 for over 20 weeks in a row by then DJ Judge Jules. Jules also crowned it his Xmas number 1 in 2006. This track featured Aaliyah's "One in a Million" a capella used as a sample by Rafferty. Originally it was called The Searchers but since there was already a band named The Searchers, it had to be changed due to legal regulations. The success of the track also resulted in fellow artists creating their own remixes of the song. His next track, "Can You Feel It" was released under the dance label S12. The single features Martin Luther King, Jr.'s I Have a Dream speech. His biggest achievement came in 2007 when he remixed the popular Journey "Don't Stop Believin'" ballad with the Ministry of Sound under the moniker "Weekend Warriors". The remix made it into the Top 40 UK charts in 2010. Ryan has DJ'd in popular clubs such as "The Coach" in Banbridge, Northern Ireland and is now currently living and working with various artists in Perth, Australia. As of 2014, he is signed to Xelon Entertainment.
