Ryan Omadat Persaud (born 8 September 1994) is an American cricketer. He plays as a leg break bowler for Jamaica Tallawahs. Career In 2008, he made his first appearances in the Millennium Cricket League for Rising Stars Cricket Club in the Forty 40 and Twenty 20 competitions. In 2014, he played for Global Cricket Club, and for the USACA (United States Cricket Academy) the following year, before a return to Rising Stars in 2016, Global in 2017 and finally Challengers in 2021. Persaud's most successful season with the ball came in 2015 when he took 28 wickets from 13 games in the Forty 40. His economy rate was 3.78 with his bowling average at 10.39. With the bat, he has never hit a half-century in the Millenium Cricket League. His top scores are 41 from 2009 and 2010 in the Forty 40. In the Twenty 20 competition, he hit 45 in 2013. Garden State Cricket League In 2018, Persaud played for Shawn SC in one game in the Irshad Ally Trophy. In 2021, Persaud made 5 appearances for Berbice Royals hitting 18 runs and taking 2 wickets. International career On 8 June 2013, Persaud was named in a 14-man USA Under-19s squad for the ICC Americas U19 2013 Division 1 Tournament which was held in Toronto Canada from July 7 to 15. The tournament was a 50-over double round-robin competition between Bermuda, Canada and USA, with the winner automatically qualifying for the U19 World Cup in the UAE in 2014. On 8 July, the Bermuda vs USA game returned no result and Persaud did not get an opportunity to bowl. He did however make one from two balls. Three days later he recorded the best bowling figures for the USA side with 2-30 from 10 overs as they were beaten by 5 wickets by Canada. He took 1-2 from 2.2 overs as USA bowled Bermuda out for 55 on 12 July. In the final match, USA beat Canada by 7 wickets with Persaud's bowling figures 0-29. Persaud finished with 3 wickets in the tournament, the joint second highest of any of the USA players. Franchise career In 2020, Persaud was signed by Jamaica Tallawahs as their ICC Americas player for the 2020 Caribbean Premier League season. Alongside Persaud in the Jamaica Tallawahs squad were world cricket stars like Andre Russell, Sandeep Lamichhane and Carlos Brathwaite. The Tallawahs finished in 4th place in the group stage, but were eliminated by eventual winners Trinbago Knight Riders in the Semi-Final. Persaud was retained by Jamaica Tallawahs as their ICC Americas player ahead of the 2021 CPL season. Jamaica Tallawahs finished in 5th place in the group stage and did not qualify for the knockout stage. Movies In the 2016 movie Jack Goes Home, Persaud was the co-executive Producer. In the 2017 thriller Altitude, He was the co-executive Producer. In the 2017 film After School Special, He played Ajay Kent.
