Ryan Lockwood

Ryan James Lockwood (born December 18, 1987) is an American former college baseball star.
Lockwood was born in San Antonio, Texas. He attended Jesuit High School, then the University of Florida before attending the University of South Florida. In his first season there, 2008, he slashed .415/.493/.513 with 80 hits and 12 stolen bases in 44 games. Numerous honors followed, including being named Collegiate Baseball Newspapers 2008 Freshman Player of the Year, Rivals.com Freshman All-American, First Team, Baseball America Freshman All-American, First Team, Louisville Slugger Freshman All-American, National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association Freshman All-American, First Team, Baseball Freshman All-American, First Team All-Big East Conference. During the season, he began a 32-game hitting streak, which ended in February 2009. The Oakland Athletics took him in the 39th round of the 2009 Major League Baseball Draft, but he did not sign. In 2009, he slashed .289/.392/.366 and in 2010, he hit .314/.379/.477.
In he 2007, he played for the Cape Cod League's Harwich Mariners and the Coastal Plain League's Fayetteville SwampDogs. His father, William Lockwood, played professional baseball.
He later trained to be a Navy SEAL.
