Free to Play Towns and Villages

The following areas are avalible in the free-to-play version of RuneScape.


Lumbridge

General
This is where all players start the game after a brief tutorial, and where they return with only their 3 most valuable items when they die (they can return to other cities after completing specific members quests).
Features
The Lumbridge Castle; with a bank, kitchen, spinning wheel, and several quests. (kitchen can be used after completing a quest)
In the Lumbridge area there is a furnace, a grain mill, a chapel, and fishing areas. Lumbridge shops include the General Store and Bob's Axes.
The Lumbridge Swamps, to the south, are home to two mining areas, the water rune altar, a dungeon, and several quests.
Skills
*Combat: For New Playes with Goblins, Men and Spiders (all level-2)
*Fishing & Cooking: New Players can go to the swamps and begin. After some experience, They can fish west of the Castle and then cook it.
*Mining & Smithing: For New Players with Tin and Copper, in the swamps, then Smelt both ores in the furnace to make a bronce bar
*Woodcutting & Firemaking: New Players can cut regular trees, and While getting more experience, they can cut Oaks, Willows and Yews
*Crafting: New Players can get wool from Sheeps with Shears, And craft them into Balls of Wool in the Spinning Wheel
*Runecrafting: After some experience, players can craft Water runes in the Water Altar, located in the swamps.
*Thieving: After paying for Membership, Players can start pickpocketing Men.

Falador

General
Falador is the capital of the Kingdom of Asgarnia, And home of the White Knights. After completing "Recluiment Drive" Quest, players can choose between Lumbridge and Falador to go when they die.
Features
Falador Has A good amount of Guards (level-19/21) for medium level training. It has 2 Banks and also a General Store, A Bar, Mace Shop, Gem Shop, Chainbody Shop, Spinning Wheel, Furnace, Shield Shop, Estate Agent and 3 Quest start Points.

As Unique Features:
*There's the famous "Party Room", when sometimes there are "Party drops", in which there can be Items Worth a lot of Money, and are going to be dropped in ballons. Commonly when the drop is Millions worth, bankers from everywhere announce the Drop.
*There is Also the HairDresser's, in which Any Player can Change their Hair and Beard(Male only) Style, but has a cost of 2.000
gold pieces (gp).
*And The Mining Guild, in Which are a lot of rocks for ores, and is only accesible to players over level 60 mining.
Skills
*Combat: Players can Kill Guards level 19 and 21
*Mining & Smithing: Players can mine in the nearby Dwarven Mine, The Mining Guild (After Having Significant Expirience), and in a mine west of the city (Members only). All the ores obtained can be Transformed in Bars in the Furnace
*WoodCutting & Firemaking: In the Outsides, There are all kinds of trees (not Willow)
*Runecrafting: After completing Rune Mysteries and getting Rune Essence, Players can start skilling, crafting Air Runes
*Thieving: After some Experience, player can PickPocket Guards
*Farming: For medium levelled players, there's a Tree patch in the Park.

Varrock

General
The Capital of the Kingdom of Mishtalin and the Biggest City that is accesible to non-members. It has a lot of Features and The Famous "Grand Exchange".

Varrock is Huge, so the features are listed:

*1 PlateBody Shop
*3 Anvil Places (For Smithing)

*1 Magic Shop
*3 Chapel (To Recharge Prayer Points)

*1 Grand Exchange
Unique Features
*Grand Exchange: Players that Want to sell something, just go to the grand exchange and put the item to sell. The Item must Be Tradeable and there must be at least one player buying that item.
*Clothes Change: In one of the Clothes Shop, There is a feature that Allows Any Player to Change their Body, Sleeves and Legs Look, Altough is worth 1.000 gp.
*Sawmill Operation: Members Only, can make Planks for players to train Construction. Altough is somehow Expensive.
*The Cooks Guild: In which players can cook many things, is accesible to players over level 32 cooking.
*The Champions Guild: In Which Players Can Start non-members hardest quest, and fight the champions of most Monsters Races (Members Only). Is Accesible for players with 32 Quest Points, which can be obtained completing quests.

Skills
*Combat: There are Guards level 19/21 all around the city, and there is also a dungeon filled of monsters (from level 3 to 42)
*WoodCutting & Firemaking: All Kind of trees in the outsides, and in the north part of the Palace.
*Mining & Smithing: There are 2 Mining Sites and 3 anvil sites, but there is not a Furnace.
*Runecrafting: In the Magic Shop, there's a teleport to the essence mine. After some experience, players can craft earth runes in the Earth Altar NorthEast of the city
*Thieving: Players can pickpocket Guards and Steal from the Tea Stall

Other Cities
Al Kharid
The Capital of the kharidian Desert, which most part of the territory is accesible to Members only.
Has a tannery, crafting shop, general store, scimitar shop, a furnace, 2 fishing spots, a gem shop, platelegs shop, 3 quest start points, and a very big mine, in which can be trained and transformed in bars in the furnace. Crafting can also be trained, with the tanner transforming cowhide in leather, and with some items, Leather armour can be made.

Draynor Village
A litlle Village, with a seed shop and a wine shop, which can be stolen and 2 quest start points. some fishing spots and willows both next to the bank. The Wizards Tower south, which has access to the essence mine. The Draynor Manor to the North.

Edgeville
A town South of the "Wilderness". Has a General Store, a Bank, Spots for Willows and Yews, and the entrance to the famous Edgeville Dungeon. Also A Furnace, but Only for Members who have completed the varrock archievement diary (easy Tasks)

Barbarian Village
A Village South of Edgeville. Known because of the strongholds; of Security and player Safety. Also has some fishing spots and a mine, helmet shop, Barbarians to kill (level 10) and a clay furnace for clay items.

Port Salim
A Port, with access to other ports and locations, and the only port accesible to non-members. Has a magic shop, an Axe shop, Jewellery shop, Fishing Shop and Food Shop

Rimmington
A very little town with nothing special, just a quest point start, General, Crafting and Archery Shops. Has a Mine which is almost always alone, and an entrance to the POH, (Player Owned Houses). There are, most of the times, 2 or 3 players here.

Goblin Village
Has absolutely NOTHING, Just a quest start point and a lot of Goblins Level-5 Fighting themselves.



Pay to Play Towns and Villages

This areas are accessible to Members Only, and it's aproximately 75% of the land of Runescape

West Zone

Ardougne
General
Is the Healthiest city in all Runescape, and the capital of the Kingdom of Kandarin. Is divided in two; West and East.
Features
Is Very Famous Because of the Stalls Located in the Entrance, Which can be Stolen, and is very visited because the amount of stalls and NPC which can be stolen too. Has a furnace, 9 quest start points, platebody shop, chapel, 2 Banks, teleport to the essence mine, General store and other features. Also has a Zoo.
West Ardougne is very empty, just an anvil, a General store, a chapel, and a dungeon.
skills
*Combat: There are Knights Level-45, Paladins Level 62 and Heroes Level 69. Also Beasts in the Zoo to train Magic and Ranged.
*WoodCutting & Firemaking: Trees, Oaks and Willows South of the City
*Mining & Smithing: There are mines south and east of the city, with iron and coal, to make steel bars in the Furnace.
*Thieving: BEST place to train from very low level (5) to high level (70 and above) in the Marketplace

Yanille
General
Is a little city south of Ardougne, in which is the Wizards's Guild. Is just West of the famous Minigame "Castle Wars"
Features
Has a hunter and a pet shop, which aren't common to see, and also has a food shop, a bar, a bank, 1 quest start point, an anvil, a dungeon, a POH portal, and a magic shop inside the Wizard's Guild, it needs high magic level to enter, but has features like access to the essence mine
Skills
*Combat: The guards in the west entrance
*Thieving: Pickpocketing the Guards
*Hunting: There is the Jungle Hunting place just south of the city.
*Construction: For Medium-high levelled player who own a house in yanille

Camelot
General
The explanation here is not only camelot, is all the zone around, Seers Village and Catherby. Is very popular because players with any skill level can train here most of the skills. Also after completing "King Ransom" quest, players, can Choose Between Lumbridge, Falador or Camelot, to go when they die
features
Seers Village, Has a Bank, an Anvil, a bar, a chapel, 1 quest start point, and a Spinning Wheel.
In the Way from Seers to Catherby, there's the Camelot Castle, which doesn't has much but a QSP (quest start point) and a chapel.
In Catherby, just south of Camelot, There's a bank, a Fishing, General, Archery, Farming and Candle shops, There is a Farming Patch and a lot of Fishing Spots for every player, from low to high level
Skills
*Combat: Unicorns, And Wolves west of Catherby
*Fishing & Cooking: Maybe the Best Place, for players from the lowest to the highest level, and has a kitchen and a bank just a few steps away
*Woodcutting & Firemaking: Probably the best place too, has every kind of trees in good amounts, from the lowest to the highest level.
*Crafting: There's a Flax field south of Seers, and a Spinning wheel in the Village.
*Farming: There are Allotments, Flowers, Herbs and Fruit Tree Patchs all North of Catherby, with exception of the last one, which is east.
