Rozita Swinton

Rozita Swinton, (born 1974-'75) is a Colorado Springs woman accused of a history of making false police reports by phone and now accused of playing a role in triggering the raid by police and child-protection authorities on the Fundamentalist Latter-Day Saints Yearning For Zion community.

In February 2008, Swinton called 911 and said her name was "Jennifer" and that she was injured and in a basement. Colorado Springs Police arrested Swinton for the call in April. During a search of her house related to the arrest, officers found several items they described as suggesting a possible connection between Swinton and calls regarding compounds owned by the FLDS church in Colorado City, Ariz., and Eldorado, Texas".

She also has been accused making calls made to a crisis center run by Flora Jessop and pretending to be a girl in another FLDS compound. During the call, Swinton reportedly said in a little baby voice, "If you rescue me, and I get out of here, do you think the black people will hurt me?"

The Texas Rangers said Swinton became a "person of interest" several days after the raid.
