Roy Shattuck

Roy Lloyd Shattuck (June 2, 1871 - August 15, 1915) was an American politician who served as the Mayor of Brazil, Indiana, from 1904 to 1910. In 1914 he was the Republican candidate for Indiana's 5th congressional district, running against Ralph Wilbur Moss. After the election he was indicted for election fraud in Vigo County, Indiana, but died before trial.
Biography
He was born on June 2, 1871, to Volney B. Shattuck and Henrietta Bessie Pearce in Brazil, Indiana. He graduated from Brazil High School in 1888 and later from the Indiana University Robert H. McKinney School of Law. On October 7, 1894, he married Olive Rosamond Carter and the couple had four children.
Shattuck succeeded William W. Moore, Sr. as the mayor of Brazil in September 1904. He served until January 3, 1910, when John 'Jack' Bray took office. During his tenure, he continued to practice law and represented business interests. He died on August 15, 1915, in Brazil, Indiana. He died after a federal grand jury indicted him for election fraud in Vigo County, Indiana, but before he could stand trial.
