Rover 45 v6

The Rover 45 v6 was not a model in the Rover 45 range, but a term used to describe a Rover 45 fitted with a KV6 engine
History
After a difficult start when it was first introduced in 1996 in the Rover 825, were early engines suffered excessive head gasket failure rates. The head gasket issue was addressed at dealer level by fitting a modified head gasket set and also "from factory" with the modified multi layer gasket fitted to all engines on the production line. The engine management was redesigned along with the inlet manifold and in 1999 was ready for the launch of Rover 75. and in 2000 the engine was fitted into the Rover 45. With the redesigned head gasket the KV6 no longer suffered with high head gasket failure rates in MG Rover product.
