Rotoli Xaba

Rotoli Xaba (14 May 1893 - 24 April 1953) was the twenty third person of colour to qualify as a doctor in South Africa.
Early life and Education
Rotoli Xaba came to the UK in the mid 1920s to study medicine at the University of Edinburgh Medical School .
In 1929 Xaba's studies were dissrupted as his father became unwell and he had to return to South Africa to care for him. Following the death of his father Xaba returned to Scotland to complete his studies. He received a Triple Scottish Qualification (LRCP and LRCS from Edinburgh and LRFPS from Glasgow) in 1936. Upon graduation he returned to South Africa and set up a private medical practice at Idutywa in Willowvale.<ref name=":0" />
